So, are you an escape room?
Although we like escape rooms, no, we aren’t one. Unlike in an escape room where you’re dedicated to one room until you solve a mystery or puzzle to get yourself out, at MISH MASH you’ll move from room to room in our urban adventure, with a new and exciting challenge behind each door. If you’ve had enough of one challenge, you can move on to the next!
What should I expect during my visit?
To HAVE FUN, PLAY, and BE CHALLENGED! You’ll be immersed and work your way through as many themed challenges as you can during your time at MISH MASH.
What should I wear?
Wear something comfortable that you can easily move in. We recommend gym clothes and running shoes. From our experience – sandals and open-toed shoes are a bad idea because you’ll be kicking, climbing and be generally moving and grooving and don’t want you to hurt your tootsies.
When should I arrive for my booking?
We recommend you and your team arrive 5 - 10 minutes early. This way we can check you in, get your group set up with your team access code for scoring, and take you through how your adventure will work.
Do I have to book as a team?
Each of our challenges requires teamwork to complete, so without a team, you’ll kind of just be standing around. Teams can be as small as two people, so don’t worry about having to find a big group! If you do want to book a group larger than 6 players, just let us know!
Who can play?
Everyone! Although we recommend that everyone is older than the age of ten so that they get as much as possible out of their experience.
So if someone is under 10 - can they still play?
We leave that up to the parent's discretion ( you know your kid best!) - but we recommend age 10 and up because some of our logic challenges might be a tad too difficult and some of the physical challenges might not be suitable if they're a very small child. But again - it's up to you! However, children under the age of 7 will NOT be permitted for safety reasons.
I’m not very physically fit – will I still have fun?
YES! Although our MOVE challenges are active, you don’t need to be an athlete to complete them. Plus, if you don’t feel comfortable in one of the rooms, you can easily move on to the next.
How long can I spend each visit?
Each booking is a minimum of 2 hours, but you can choose to extend while at MISH MASH based upon availability. If you’re competitive like we are, you’ll want to stay as long as you can to complete all the rooms to have a go at the Challenge Room.
Is it hard?
Yes and no – you will be challenged in a variety of ways while at MISH MASH, but you and your team have the option of making each challenge easy, medium or hard. So really, it’s up to you.
How can I book?
Booking can be done entirely online!
Do I have to book online, or can I do it on-site?
You can book on-site but we highly recommend you book online since we can only accept a certain number of bookings per day and don’t want you to be disappointed.
What is your refund policy?
We don’t offer refunds, but if you must cancel, you have 24 hours before your booking to receive a credit for future use. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, no credit will be given.
During my time can I leave and come back?
If you are going to play longer than 2 hours, you are going to want a snack, so we can let you pause once for 30 minutes to grab a bite in the mall. This is only available on bookings longer than or extended from the initial 2-hour session though.
Can I have my birthday party at MISH MASH?
Only if we’re invited! And I mean, why wouldn’t we be? For more details on hosting your birthday party at MISH MASH, check out our Groups & Team Building page.
Do you offer group/corporate bookings?
We sure do, we even have a special page dedicated to it. You’ll find all the information you need there.
Where are you located?
We are located at Fox Valley Mall in Aurora, Illinois. You can find us on the upper level, center court, directly across from JC Penny.
Is there parking?
Plenty! Since we are located in the center of the mall, there is no specific area we recommend, or preferred enterance.
What are your hours?
We are open 7 days a week during regular mall hours.
Can I bring my phone inside?
You can’t bring your phone into the challenge rooms, but you’re welcome to use it as much as you want in our lobby and the halls. During gameplay, we highly recommend that you use our free lockers to store your phone.
Can I bring a pet?
Only if it’s a hairless Sphynx.
What about service animals?
They are welcome with open arms! We would appreciate it if you could let us know ahead of time if you’ll be bringing a service animal, just so our staff is aware.
Health & safety
Eww, germs! What is MISH MASH doing to prevent the spread of these awful things?
Everything we can!
Guests will find hand sanitizer stations throughout our facilities and our staff fully sanitize each challenge room at least once every hour to ensure the health and safety of our guests.
You will also be required to wear a face mask in our lobby and when moving through our hallways, as per regulations set by the state of Illinois. When you are in any of our challenge rooms with your team, you can remove your mask if you wish.
I’m feeling under the weather, but don’t want to let my team down. Should I still come?
Not if you really care about your team and others visiting MISH MASH! If you’re sick, please stay at home to keep others healthy. You’ll have more fun when you’re 100% healthy anyway.
If for any reason you have to cancel your adventure with us due to sickness, we will be more than happy to issue you a credit so you can re-book.
I’m sick but I still want to come anyway.
We care about you, as much as everyone else who wants to play. If you’re visibly sick when checking in at MISH MASH, you won’t be permitted to play for the health and safety of the MISH MASH team members and other visitors.
